"Carve In Stone Your Creed"

By: John J. Haney

Cast not your fate to foolish chance,
Lest sorrow be your wage,
For careless deeds do naught but make
An ill begotten sage.spirit

Invest instead the vast reserve
Of knowledge you will glean,
And lift the wondrous gift of life
To heights of grand esteem.

When then at last you do expire
With dignity abound,
Your praise shall ring throughout the world,
Your glory shall resound.

For even now as life goes on
With causes yet to plead,
You did not cast your fate to chance,
But carved in stone your creed.
